Note that, despite the name, this isn't necessarily a sidequest in the RPG vein.

Usually considered infamous within the game's fanbase, the game's message boards are filled with posters either asking for help on how to beat it, or, more likely, angrily ranting about it. Why? They've been derailed by that one sidequest. In the end, many players wind up hopelessly stuck at 99%, and give up before ever reaching the coveted 100% completion. Only the truly dedicated 100% completionists remain, but even many of them fail and inevitably accept defeat. Most serious players of the game attempt to do this, fail miserably, give up and move on. These are generally far more difficult than anything else in the game and, in extreme cases, may be classified as nigh impossible.Ĭasual players do not even bother with this. Thanks a lot for explaining this in details, as I'm having lots of frustration completing this, and didn't make sense at all before I read your post.- The Lord of Games, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & BoltsĪn optional, nonessential, usually out-of-the-way part of a video game that is extremely difficult and/or time consuming to complete, yet is nonetheless required for 100% completion. I do agree the quest explanation is rather vague. I suppose you need to find a higher level mob for this quest. So i try to find mobs that actually higher then me by 1 level, and boom, I got the objectives hit 8 times with the arkadian steel sword. I repeat this around 7 times until it hits me, maybe the mobs are lower or same level with me. I never think about it really until I saw it with my own eyes.Īfter the patch, I try several mobs and mob groups, but I did not get the side combat objectives hit 8 times with the arkadian steel sword. The subtle requirement was mentioned in the quest, which is "tougher" opponent/ enemy. I can confirm all the point above, and I will add my experience since I have finished the quest after the patch.

Which doesn't show up for every fight, making this quest an exercise in frustration. Ursprünglich geschrieben von mendaere:I did this quest yesterday (before the patch) so I don't know if its still relevant now that they've "fixed" it, but the issue is that the "counter" is actually a bonus objective for the fight.

It would remove a lot of the frustration factor and complete confusion as to what exactly needs to be done. Maybe that's what their "fix" did, I haven't gone back to check. Personally, I think the devs should change it so that, as long as the quest is being tracked then EVERY fight should have the correct bonus objective. I suppose of course that, instead of running away, if objective isn't right you could beat the fight and move away/come back/try again, but that would be much more time consuming. do this until the conditions are all correct, then fulfil the objective to advance the quest.

if not the right one run away, reload, try again find an appropriate group and save nearby Its the fourth point that makes this quest so annoying. The correct objective showing up is fairly rare (for me it seemed to be only about 10% of the time). This bonus objective is the "counter" that has been mentioned a few times. When you start the fight, check the bonus objective - if its not one to hit enemies 8+ times with the Arkadian Steel Sword then you are wasting your time, you can't progress the quest this battle. Best choices I found are either the Big Oroko west of the Prisoner's Camp (if you are hankering for a tough enemy) or there is a group of six Orokos of various types to the west of the entrance to the city, north of the tabernacle (if a large group of weaker foes is more your dish of tea).Ĥ) THIS IS THE PART THAT IS POORLY (OR NOT AT ALL) EXPLAINED. Basically an encounter that will take a lot of hits to dispose of (assuming Daryon is doing all the attacking).

(** Not sure if this is required in order for the bonus objective (point 4, below) to proc, but it might be so I wouldn't recommend skipping it.)ģ) Find either a single powerful enemy or a largish group of normal enemies. Which doesn't show up for every fight, making this quest an exercise in frustration.Ģ) Make sure that the "Tough Love" quest is the one being tracked. I did this quest yesterday (before the patch) so I don't know if its still relevant now that they've "fixed" it, but the issue is that the "counter" is actually a bonus objective for the fight.
